Referee Rules Courses
Referees Grading Criteria;
Basic Class: Class C
Requirements:
1. Theory: 2 rules courses and 10 competitions including one major event in Manila.
2. Practical test at any competition
Qualification:
Referee divisions;
Kids , Juniors, Women's, Masters , White Belt only
Intermediate Class B
Requirements:
1. Theory: 5 rules courses and 18 competitions including 5 major events in Manila.
2. Practical test at any competition
3. Blue belt or above in BJJ ( exception for any persons who reffed more than 30 events , each day of competition is counted as one event)
Qualification:
Referee divisions;
Kids , Juniors, Women's, Masters , White Belt
Blue belt , Purple belt
Advanced Class A
Requirements:
1. Theory: Current updated rules courses and 20 competitions including 5 major events in Manila.
2. Practical test at any competition
3. Purple belt or above in BJJ ( exception for any persons who reffed more than 40 events , each day of competition is counted as one event)
4. Automatic qualification if referee is certified by any Federation affiliated by IBJJF.
Qualification:
Referee divisions;
All Divisions
Elite Class; 1st Class
Requirements:
1. Black belt in BJJ
2. Reff at any major IBJJF competition ie Pan Ams, Mundials
3. Automatic qualification if referee is certified by any Federation affiliated by IBJJF and is a Black Belt in BJJ , ie Japan
